Omar Ladak
Omar is primarily responsible for strategy design and leading governance practices across our group of companies, ensuring alignment between Noverra’s three Co-Founders and our Operating Company Executives. In addition, he co-leads our acquisitions and investments program with Co-Founder Steve Lux; and works with Co-Founder Suzanne Boyd on the creation of Leadership Development programming to proactively support the growth of our key leaders. Furthermore, he provides mentorship support for our most senior Operating Company Executives.
Prior to co-Founding Noverra, Omar was a Partner and Member of the Board of Directors at RPO Management Consultants, a boutique strategy consultancy with a national Canadian practice. RPO was merged with the Secor Group and ultimately acquired by KPMG Canada. Omar started as a consultant at RPO after finishing graduate school and was made Partner three years later, at the age of 26.
Omar has been a principal, business owner, board director or advisory board member of companies in the Business Services, Financial Services, Technology, Real-Estate and Construction Services industries. His consulting advisory experience spanned the Telecommunications, Transportation, Financial Services, Healthcare, Technology, Manufacturing, Distribution, Alternative Energy, and Government sectors.
In addition to his business and entrepreneurial pursuits, Omar is passionate about the community and has been actively involved through board and advisory roles in various not-for-profit organizations. Omar has served as a member of the Board, Advisory Board or Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of the Lower Mainland; the Quest Food Exchange; The Centre for Healthcare Management at the Sauder School of Business; and the BC Construction Safety Alliance.
Omar is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and served on the Board of YPO British Columbia for seven years, including serving as Chair of the Membership Committee, Chair of the Strategy Committee, and Chair of the Board. In addition, Omar has served as a member of YPO Canada’s Board of Directors.
Omar currently serves on the Board of Governors at York House School, one of the leading independent all-girls schools in Canada; is a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement British Columbia, which delivers educational opportunities in entrepreneurship, financial literacy and job readiness skills to students across British Columbia; and is a member of the Nominations Committee for the Business Laureates of BC Hall of Fame, an honour presented to the most notable business leaders in British Columbia.
Omar graduated with an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC), as well as a Masters’ degree in Business Administration from the Sauder Business School at UBC. He has attended the President’s Program at Harvard Business School, as well as executive education programs in corporate finance and corporate growth at INSEAD and the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
In addition, Omar has completed the Director’s Education Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto and is a Certified Director (ICD.d).
